Program
updates
Phoenix is regularly updated via free
program updates. Always make sure that you have the
latest version available to get the most out of your simulator.
Step
1 - Determine your currently installed version
To find out which version of Phoenix you currently have installed,
start the program and look at the version number displayed on the
Windows Title Bar when the program initialises and runs:

From the
example above, we can see that this user has version 2.5.u
installed. Make a note of this number.
>>
Please note that you must install from your original Phoenix CD or
DVD before you can install the updates on this page.
Step
2 - Determine which update(s) are required
Once you know which version you have installed, you can now download
any major program updates which are required:
•
If your version number is lower than version 2.0
If your currently installed program version is lower than "2.0"
then you must install the "version x.x to 2.5.u update"
below:

•
If your version number is version 2.5 or above
If you currently have any version 2.5 or above installed then you
should use the Automatic Updates system from within
Phoenix to make sure your simulator is fully up-to-date, and also
access any additional models and flying sites:
• Make
sure that you are connected to the internet and can access web
pages
• Start
Phoenix using the shortcut on your Windows Desktop or Start Menu
• Once
the program has loaded, go to the main menu bar and click "System"

• Click
on the "Check for Updates" option

• If
a newer program version is available, a button will be visible
at the top of the menu titled "Update to latest version"
- Click this to start the update procedure.
• You
can also see any available new models and flying sites in the
list. To install, highlight the "install"
button beside all of the updates you wish to install (or click
the "select all" button), then click
the main "Install" button to the bottom-right
of the menu when you are happy with your selection.
If
you are not able to connect your computer to the internet
If the computer you have Phoenix installed on cannot be connected
directly to the internet, you will not be able to use the Automatic
Updates system (see above) to install program updates, new models
and new flying sites.
Instead,
first make sure that you have the latest available version using the
links above, by using another computer (which is
connected to the internet) to download the required major program
updates, transferring them to the computer you wish to use Phoenix
on, then installing.
Once
this is completed, please use our Manual
Downloads page to install any additional content.
You will need to check this page regularly to make sure you are not
missing out on any newly released models, flying sites or new program
updates.
